Below are all the official updates and news releases from the group, including meeting invites, research results, and progress with the campaign goals
To those that have arrived to the website, this is a short introduction to the group.
This group was founded by a couple of residents from the village of East Ilsley (if you do not know this village, you may have heard it mentioned on local and national radio in connection with traffic problems on the A34, as they often occur in a close vicinity to East Ilsley), after a regocnition of growing concern locally about the safety of users on the A34.
In the past month alone, there have been 6 deaths on the road, between Newbury and Oxford. Quite simply, we do not want another death on this road and aim to reduce the likelihood and severity of any accidents in the future. While residents of neighbouring towns and villages have expressed concern in the past, and campaigned for changes to the road, the answer has been that there have not been enough deaths on the road for it to be considered unsafe. We simply do not feel that is the case and it is horribly tragic that so many lives have been lost in order for it to be recognised that there are safety issues on the road.
Please join us in our campaign to make the A34 a safer road for all users, and help us to reduce the risk so that no-one else has to lose a loved one to this dangerous road. Nothing will change if we do nothing, but it is time something was done.
