About the A34 Action Group
An official local community action group

What are the aims of the A34 Action Group?

  • Provide a single focus point for members from all communities affected by the A34
  • Record, collate, and communicate all concerns related to the safety of users of the A34
  • Bring together relevant authorities to increase communication and understanding of future opportunities / actions / decisions
  • Promote awareness of safety issues on the A34
  • Find and campaign for any changes that can reduce the number, and mitigate the impact, of accidents on the A34.

Why was the group formed?

This group was formed as a result of growing concern by locals within the nearby villages of the A34 north of the M4. Many community members have historically expressed much concern about the safety of the road and after a recent spate of severe accidents, there is a growing feeling that something needs to change and that the safety issues needed to be addressed.
