Driver awareness courses
Having an increased awareness of the road can help a driver to identify potential risks better, as well as potentially making them a safer driver. By being able to recognise potential risks ahead can potentially help the driver to proactively modify their driving and allow for appropriate action.

At IAM we offer a range of training courses:-
1. Drive Assess where you go out for an hour in your car with one of our nationally qualified volunteer Observers who comment on aspects that you may wish to consider, and then take you out in their car for say 20 minutes to show what we mean by advanced driving. Normally this costs £30, but until end of October we would be prepared to offer it FREE to members of your group (yes, FREE!). It is intended both as a taster session, but also a demonstration of the benefits of advanced driving. After it, you can decide it is not for you and walk away, decide you might want to do it sometime, or sign up straight away. Your choice, no pressure.

2. Advanced Driver Course. Full set of lessons ( however many it takes within reason ) on a one to basis with a qualified Observer, membership of IAM, test fee, books - in fact all you need to get up to test standard and pass. We would expect the course to take 3/4 months at 1 hour a week. Currently 10% off, costing £134 until end October if you mention code Group60.

Other courses include mature driver assessment and young driver assessment.
Remember, all these are delivered by our volunteers, IMI qualified, and tests are undertaken by Police Class 1 drivers, usually serving officers.
